I have several "lifestyle" icons and the Marchesa Luisa Casati is one of them. She has inspired people throughout the ages...even today. Everyone from artists, writers, photographers to fashion designers were inspired, haunted and enthralled by her, including but not totalling: Man Ray, Augustus John, Jean Cocteau, Ezra Pound, Fortuny (one of my all time favorites), Erte, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford and the fashion house Marchesa (which is named after her). Wouldn't it be wonderful to inspire such creativity?! She was known for her exotic menagerie, her wild red hair, kohled eyes, extravagant parties and daily ensembles that were more costume than clothing. Her habit of living in the moment and "of the moment" were ultimately her downfall...but I don't think she would have viewed it that way. The World needs women who have the balls to be Icons!
On another note...I have found the best hair product ever! I didn't find it really...my ShopStyle sister Lola told me about it. I tried putting it on all of my hair, but it was too much. Looked piecey and oiley. I only put it on the bottom half and then comb it thru. After blowdrying...it's totally straight, which is amazing on my curly, wavy, spirally hair.
