I Want...What's New?

I don't like my kitchen. Yvonne, if you read this...no offense. It's just so brown...and I'm so over granite...and I never liked Baltic Brown to begin with! The layout is great. It's just soooo not me. We've been in Santa Fe for the last 4 days...I say this from the not so distant past. I'm creating this post Sept. 10th...in advance. I'm a planner like that. The Main Man's birthday was on the 14th. I can't tell you how old he is, because he's a diva...but AARP has been sending us literature in the mail! Oh, I make myself laugh!
Anyway, we have gone to Santa Fe to get his car's A/C fixed again. There is no dealership here in El Paso...which is just stupid! The Main Man tends to get bitchy when he's sweaty. Last time we had the A/C "fixed" was our trip to Scottsdale. See sidebar. Irregardless of the primary reason, this road trip works out well because it's also for his birthday and for a fly fishing expedition...and I want to check out La Puerta Originals. It's really all about me, isn't it? I'm having a hard time with my present and past tenses. Maybe I'm not so great at this planning the posting thing. I would love to redo my kitchen...and my living room mantel...and our garage doors. So, a little fact finding mission.

This is the ad in Phoenix Garden & Home...or Home & Garden, that originally stroked my...? Stroked my what? That's not the right saying, is it! You know what I mean.

This one is too "themey" for me...but I like the colors.

I like this a lot...just no granite!

I'll post pics of the trip later...hopefully I whipped birthday boys ass in our fishing endeavor! And looked glam while doing said ass whipping.

I've never been a fan of minimalist style in the kitchen, stainless steel, granite etc. With so much time spent in the kitchen, I think that it should be warm and inviting, not look like a lab.
I'n my dream life I'm going to have a colorful kitchen with an AGA or La Cornue stove in blue!
Happy B-day to the MM!

I used to do the windows for Williams-Sonoma...I coveted La Cornue. You can get them in any color.

Anon...sadly, I did not look glam. And I throw away all the AARP literature, cuz I know it's gonna piss you off! I'm sweet like that!

You have to let him win, it's his birthday LOL!

Don't feel bad, I'm getting AARP stuff too.

On to kitchens, I like the idea of mixed cabinets. I want to try that at the cottage. Home kitchen is all formal so would like a change scenery.
