Franz was to have a great career but then he was stuck...
I love the house and the Wiena Werkstatte style. If you like this one try also to look for Palais Stoclet in Brussels by Joseph Hofmann.
The amazing thing is that it is still a private house and the Stoclet family still lives inside. It opens to public only one day each year but to go in one needs a special permit from the king of Belgium.
In 1997 I was there but did not had this information..so I tried to go in and ended up my day in the Police station... -

I LOVE Villa Stuck! I posted one of his rooms (the golden one with mirrors) on my blog a way back- the old, worn down mirrors look so magical with the metallics in that shot. The whole villa is such an unusual and interesting take on classicism, I think. Great blog, glad I stumbled on it!
