Amazing...dear god! Read the fabulously entertaining post by the Despotic Queen of Shoes explaining how this red hot lusciousness came to pass. It's very entertaining.

What a Night!

Monday, July 27, 2009
We were invited to our friends house this past Saturday...what an incredible night! They are funny, affectionate, boisterous, love food and wine...she stabs me with Botox and Restylane a couple of times a year and he feeds me really well when we visit their house. What's not to like?!

This particular night he had a great idea. 4 courses...4 locations. The first course was apps out in the vegetable and fruit garden (they grow figs, apricots, cantaloupe, tomatoes, basil...and I'm sure lots of other delectables). We had figs stuffed with goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto and and a wonderful salmon roe pate on croutons with olives as the garnish...partnered with champagne! Pop, WooHoo, Cheers, Guzzle...I'm uncouth when it comes to champagne.

Second course was in the dining room...lamb chops, mashed potatoes with blue cheese (orgasmic!) and fried spinach. The wine paired with this course was incredible...so I'm going to share the info with you. I just ordered a case here...

Rhone Red Blends
from France

I really love blends...I tend to gravitate towards them.

Third course was on the front patio...decorated in a romantic "lounging at the Casbah" vibe...various cheeses with almonds and Conundrum...which is an amazing white that is great served cold on a hot Summer night. I actually had introduced Conundrum to them in the past. You can buy it here. This wine is a staple at my mother's house. She makes Mojitos with it...substituting it for the Rum. Very refreshing!

Fourth course was homemade lavender honey ice cream (made with heavy cream...OMFG!!)with macerated apricots...paired with Dolce...which is like the nectar of the gods. Buy it here and be prepared to swoon.

We ate like kings and then jumped in the pool...perfect ending to a perfect night!

Why don't I ever have anyone languidly fan me?! I must check into this!!
Her website for her store The Boudoir Queen is so cool...vintage, louche, mysterious vibe. It's like being pulled into another World. A World of femininity with a hint of possible debauchery!
