Thanksgiving...and Humping

Sunday, November 29, 2009
I went to Houston for Thanksgiving...my Dad broke his leg several weeks ago. Long story, so I won't bore you. He's doing really well. He's driven. My Mother has stayed by his side for the past three weeks. So I spent the night at my childhood home alone the first night...and I forced Wolfgang up the stairs with me...cuz I was scared! Wolfie is an Anatolian Shepherd...and he's huge! My parent's have coyote problems...hence, the mammoth dog. It turns out, the next morning, he was quite the pussy. Apparently he has never navigated stairs before...going down was not an option. Cheese didn't even entice him! I'll do pretty much anything for cheese...Wolfgang has higher scruples.

My Dad's new accessories...

Thanksgiving night...much introspection and remembrance...This is me and my Grandfather, whom I adored, at the lakehouse in East Texas.

My wonderful neighbors look after my horny dogs while I'm away...and send me X-rated videos. This is Dolce getting her groove on.

Finally...I'm home from visiting family for the Holiday. I had to leave my husband behind...which was pure torture! He had to work. Apparently the World does not stop spinning just because I want it to. After The Main Man is taken care of, I'll have plenty of time to catch up on everyone's blogs...I've missed ya'll!

I receive calls from my Mother every once is while...she'll ask, "So...did you read the paper about that Man/Woman/Child/Dog/Squirrel killed in El Paso? Your Father is worried about you." I continually respond, "Mother, El Paso is one of the safest cities in the US...there were only 18 murders in all of 2008...tell me, how many were there in Houston?"

I emailed this to her today...

From The El Paso Times...the bold is added by me.

"The vicious violence in the bloodiest city in Mexico might have claimed the life of another child. A 6-year-old was shot in the head and died Thursday night in Juárez, Chihuahua state police reported Friday.

The boy is the second child shot and killed in less than a week in that city.

About 11:40 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Chihuahua State police crimes against persons unit were called to the Centro Medico de Especialidades on Americas Avenue to investigate the child's death.

Officers found Edgar Alexis Martínez Ramírez dead of a gunshot to his head, Chihuahua police said.

An investigation continued late Friday. Authorities do not know how the boy was shot, but are looking into the possibility that he is a victim of the continual drug war violence, Chihuahua state police said.

Edgar's death occurred less than a week after 7-year-old Raul Xazziel Ramirez-Ramirez was gunned down Nov. 13 with his father, Raul Ramirez Alvarado, 35.

Raul become the youngest student from an El Paso school to be killed in the Juárez violence.

Raul reportedly was visiting his father in Juárez when they were killed. The boy lived with relatives in El Paso, and was attending his first semester at Glen Cove Elementary School in East El Paso, said Ysleta Independent School District officials.

More than 2,200 people have been killed this year in the ongoing war between drug cartels in Juárez."

I wish you would read a little bit more thoroughly so you don't get yourself all worked up. This is all happening in JUAREZ and it all relates back to DRUGS. I do not go to Juarez, nor am I a drug moll.

I used to have a "stall" at an Antiques Pavilion in Houston. I would buy inventory from auctions, flea markets and estate sales. A good auction always gets my juices flowing, the paddle waving, and the checkbook flying...now, I browse auction sites and pretend what I would buy for my defunct shop....Bonhams 20th Century Decorative Arts Auction

It's been a year...I hope that I've not bored you. This blog represents everything that I'm interested in. I want to thank every last one of you...those who comment, those who lurk, those who roll their eyes and laugh at me (I know who you are!) I also want to thank those blogs that I follow...I've learned new recipes, new music, new artists, new travel destinations...new places to spend The Main Man's hard earned money...again, I thank you.
