We drove from El Paso to Tucson, then Tucson to Tubac (which is on the Mexican border near Nogales...back to Tucson and then home...all in 48ish hours)

Entering Arizona

Our trip to Tucson is going to be separated into three posts...because...we did three separate things. The first morning we visited an amazing nursery that specializes in succulents and cactus/cacti...

B&B Cactus Farm

At first it was overwhelming...and I don't overwhelm easily

The resident Russian Blue

The way they used the dead succulent flowers as decoration was very Tony Duquetteish

Cardboard Plant...it was huge and I wanted it! But, alas, I have no room.

Our ride

Our loot

Not only did they sell succulents/cactus, they have amazing botanical gardens surrounding the property with hummingbirds zipping around.

I christened this the Polar Bear Cactus. I have no idea what it's really called.

Some of our loot at home and planted...

Tomorrow...the Arizona/Sonora Desert Museum

Amazing!I love succulents, cacti, and such.....but they are a challenge in my neck of the woods (zone 6). I have a hardy agave, prickly pear, a spindly euphorbia, and several yucca varieties that seem to handle my wet and cold winter.
