Longing...Yearning...I Miss You...in Portugese

"The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness". A.F.G. Bell

A very interesting word...thank you Fabulastic. I feel this way for my Grandfather...and for my friend Fabulastic...one I have lost and one I may never find.

Saudade, yep that word pretty much sums up my life for about 30 years. Luckily the suadade is gone, it must be hormonal.

OOoh...I love this word. I'm going to have to use it with abandon...and probably mispronounce it too.

I love that photo! Too adorable!

Am also a fan of Cesaria Evora - her music is full of Latin passion.

You are sooooo kind and cute! Thank you, Darling!

I also did a post about saudade a long time ago. You can check it
HERE

Susan: If you are truly a Cesária Évora fan you must know that she is from Cape Verde (in Africa) that was an ex Portuguese colony. We, the Portuguese, are not Latin but Lusitanic.

The main difference between the Castellan Spanish Culture (that North American summed up as Latin) and the Lusitanic Culture, is exactly our lack of passion and our quite mores...
