El Paso to Phoenix (backwards), to Atlanta...then diverted to Miami because of Tropical Storm Matthew...we had to spend the night in Miami (don't ever fly Delta), then we hooked a ride on a tourist bus to Key West. That's the only way we could get there without paying a zillion more dollars to book a flight on another airline...(don't ever fly Delta!)
It rained all the way to Key West...I kept texting my Mother...they had NO PROBLEMS flying into Key West (Continental airlines has much bigger balls than Delta...don't fly Delta)...she kept telling me that it was blue skies all around. I honestly thought she was lying to me. Apparently Key West doesn't get the rain Miami and the Upper Keys receive.
La Te Da...a hotel/restaurant/cabaret/bar was just around the corner on Duval. It ended up being our "hangout"...breakfast and lunch and the bar were the best...the waiters were better looking at dinner. What's not to like about a place that hosts Tea Dances on Sundays and has a disco ball hung over the pool?! The Manhattans were fabulous too. They served them like ice cream shakes...martini glass of Manhattan with a little glass in a bowl of ice with whatever was left in the shaker!
The disco ball is hanging over the chaise lounges.
The next day...fully recovered we found our favorite mode of transportation...this little cart thingy is far better than the ubiquitous bicycles you see everywhere. No exertion means no sweating.
That evening...Danger Charters Wind and Wine Cruise and the Crew! Wow. The wine was good too.
although I don't think they are working together any longer.
The Big Day Arrives!
