The Birthday Man of the Hour and his Lovely Woman...these are the parent's of the little girl that was entrusted to my care the other day...Matilda.

Coveting the Cool Necklace

The Humidor birthday present...I love the "holding hand" detail on the top.

The Guests...with the table set up outside...it was beautiful.

Mrs. West Texas is in Blue.

Chef Bobby...who may be on Iron Chef...if so, we will be in NYC!!

Leg of Lamb...that was exactly like it was supposed to be...not like my sorry attempt.

First Course...Shrimp toast (made with shrimp paste...amazing) on top of Mussels in a Broth that was the best frigging broth I've ever tasted. I drank all of it. It's good to be among friends if you're going to eat like a heathen.

Blue Cornmeal encrusted Sweetbreads (yes, sweetbreads, which I normally don't like, but this time I had a second helping) on top of a Summer Risotto with a Mustard Sauce. I'm not doing the descriptions justice. Normally Bobby gives me the correct wording.

Leg of Lamb with Broccolini and an Eggplant Puree Smear...oh, and Feta Cheese

Berries and Chocolate for dessert...with booze...but, by then, I was boozed up, so I don't remember what kind of booze.

Explanation of this picture. My friend, Special K, and I were discussing the merits of being a woman of a "certain age" and photo taking. Head up or Head down...after looking at the tape...head down won.

Drunk and Satiated...Great fun was had by all. Thank you for inviting us and letting us celebrate your big day with you.

EPSO 80th Anniversary Fundraiser

Yay! Done!!

The 80th El Paso Symphony Orchestra Fundraiser is in my past. Thankfully, it was a sell-out.

Held at the El Paso Museum of Art

Cocktail hour, Seated Dinner catered by El Paso Country Club

Eroica Trio for entertainment, then off to the Dome for celebratory drinks.

Wonder Woman Bracelets for extra Strength and Courage

I didn't take the best pictures this time. The floral arrangements were beautiful. And not one photo! What the hell was I thinking? Probably, I was just exhausted and happy that it was almost over.

Our table consisted of the the following amigos/amigas.

The Dome is in the Camino Real Hotel, designed and built by Henry C. Trost in 1812. The Dome is a great bar for cocktails with literally a glorious Tiffany designed dome looking down at all the revelers. It's beautiful.

This joie de vivre is the reason I love this woman!

Why must Thea Porter caftans be so expensive? I just love them all so much it hurts.

This is a mix of Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Thea Porter and others.
