Proceed to Day 6...

I've been sick...better now. This was The Main Man's schedule...for me. A couple of times he forgot to feed me...but, I didn't have much of an appetite anyway. During my "illness", I've taken advantage of the Kindle my Mamacita gave me for Christmas. I didn't want one...I have this aversion to learning any kind of new technology. I'm sick of learning how to work new gadgets...but this is the BEST gift ever. It has kept me sane the last 6 days. A while back, a friend of mine gave me all of the hardback copies of the Twilight series. She's a great friend...and I turned up my nose (what a Bitch, I can be)...too Tween, for my tastes...I thought. Now, I secretly watch the movies late at night when The Man and The Pets are sleeping...embarrassed, for some reason. So, in my cough syrup induced haze, I downloaded all of the Tween books known as The Hunger Games...a Trilogy.

Katniss, the female lead character, is getting on my nerves a little. Sometimes I think she's just an idiot...but, she's only 17. I was a moron at 17. But, to be honest, I'm engrossed. Almost done with them...and I'll miss the story.

I also have read most of Karen Marie Moning's Fae series of books...Fae means Fairy...apparently being ill makes me want to escape into Worlds of Make Believe. These books were suggested by the lovely woman behind the Beladora jewelry blog at BHB...thank you, Chica! Fairy sex is STEAMY!! Becoming "Priya" doesn't sound half bad!

And then, I read Kim Harrison's latest on Kindle...Black Magic Sanction. I've read this entire Hollow Series over the years...one more to go. See...I told you I get into vampires, witches, fairies, werewolves and sci-fi...oh my. An escape from this hacking cough.

Kindle, as well as all e-books, is instant gratification. And really easy...thankfully.

I think for my birthday...in February, I'm going to ask my Mamacita to buy one for The Main Man. That way I don't have to share. And he won't see my high-brow reading list.

Was wondering where you were! Hope that you are feeling better darling. At least I gather he did feed you occasionally!

I hope you feel better and better. I sort of want a Kindle too except I am scared of devices at a point, worrying they may gang up and take over.

Jill, Isn't the kindle awesome?
I love to mix up my reading with both high brow and low brow books. Besides, when I am sick, I want something easy to read, hopefully fantasy stuff, to take me away from reality.
Get well soon, we miss you!

Glad you're feeling better. I'm thinking of getting a Kindle--perfect for those really cold days you just want to stay under the covers.

Get well son, Darling.

Be sure to have lot's of rest, Champagne and macaron.

And yes, abuse your main man and make him spoil you senseless...

Nothing wrong with low-brow. Sometimes it's nice to let the mind escape and not "learn" something.

My favorite escape books are Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series One For The Money, Two for The Dough, etc.
Great characters, good plots, hooks you fast but are quick reads.

We've both been sick simultaneously. I probably gave it to you.

Nice education on the word fae = fairy = fag...Now I know where that word came from.
